Hark and pray heed people of the Ram!Spring approaches and with it the threat of war once again descends upon our fair River Valley realm. Already the drums of war are sounding both to the Southeast and to the West. Once more the armies of Trimaris and Ansteorra move towards one another and once again they will meet upon our fair soil. We must prepare to meet these armies and defend our people from these marauding armies. Once more the host of the Ram must rise and remind these interlopers that this is our home and not just a place for them to play their games of war. To help our armies do what must be done, the Barons, Knights and Bannermen are working diligently to bring our forces together for training. Even if you can't make it to the war, come join your brethren in preparations for the invasion at one or more of the following events. Western Regional War Practice Gleann Abhann Fighter's Collegium and War Practice Northern Regional War Practice in the Barony of Small Gray Bear on March 8th. Of course, if at all possible join your comrades in arms, art, and service at King's Arrow Ranch for Gulf Wars XVIII!! |

That's right, once again the Deed of Arms: 1387 comes to Gulf wars and this year it brings something for the early period folks. This year in addition to a tournament for the 14th century Mafia, the organizers have sponsered 1066/Crusade. Both of these tournaments are meant to encourage people towards greater authenticity on and off the fighting field along with rewarding those who have authentic kits by giving them a place to gather and compete with those of like mind. Truly the first Deed of Arms at Gulf wars XVII was a sight to behold (and amazing to participate in). Pictures can be found on this very site in the picture gallery section. All are encouraged to come and take part in supporting these worthy endevours. Break out your finest 14th century garb and or early period garb and support those gallant fighters who have gone above and beyond the minimum requirements in creating a look that could have walked out of a history book. Recently the Barony of Small Gray Bear held a War Practice and invited the nearby shires to join. The day was beautiful with clear blue skies and a temperature in the 60's. It was a good day to die. |
